Research findings:
This study demonstrated a significant inhibitory effect of far infrared radiation on the growth of human cervical cancer cell lines CC7 and SIHA, as well as breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The inhibitory effect showed a positive correlation with the duration and temperature of radiation, indicating that far infrared radiation indeed has a suppressive effect on the growth of human cervical cancer cells. Further research revealed that far infrared radiation induced cell cycle arrest and cell death in these cell lines, primarily by causing a G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest.
