Research findings:
Significant improvements (p<0.05) were observed in both the experimental and control groups in the assessment of rhinitis and sinusitis before and after the study. The total scores of the Allergic Rhinitis Questionnaire based on the Taiwan version of the WHOQOL-BREF (World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire) showed significant differences in both groups. Furthermore, the study results indicated the following: (1) Effective improvement in allergic rhinitis symptoms, reduction of complications such as sinusitis and asthma, and prevention of allergic rhinitis occurrence. (2) Improved sleep disturbances caused by allergic rhinitis, with the experimental group (p=0.0015) showing better results than the control group (p=0.085), leading to enhanced social functioning and improved quality of life. (3) Enhanced immune system of the respiratory system, resulting in reduced frequency of colds and decreased occurrence of complications such as sinusitis or asthma. (4) Improvement in traditional Chinese medicine constitution, with the experimental group (p=0.015) showing better results than the medication control group (p=0.385). (5) No significant differences were observed in IgE and ECP blood tests between the two groups (p>0.05), but the majority of participants reported 30-80% improvement in sensitivity to specific odors, dust, and temperature changes.
